NPD only tracks North America, not Europe or Asia. But than again North America is the leading video game consumers in the world.
The reason many thought that Killzone 2 sales would set the world on fire is because of fanboys thinking it's bigger than Gears of War 2 or Halo 3 in terms of popularity . Gears of war 2 sold over 2 million in 2 days. Halo 3 had 4 million preorders and $170 million worth of first day sales in the US.

NPD always tracks an extra week after the month in question for late releases. Killzone 2 is no exception, it was tracked for a week and an half. Not 2 days, but an extra week. Why do you think NPD is released in the middle of the next month?
This won't really affect consumers until the publishers refuse to give out free DLC, I mean, how many people download free DLC? Pretty much everyone, correct? Now take Burnout Paradise for example, before they started charging for DLC, they gave out free updates. Now if this situation were to happen now with the charges on publishers, and if it was free DLC, would they even make it free?

First off, many people in the Microsoft doubled PS3 sales in November are definately not here. They're hiding off.
Second, this is the PS3 sales in November in 2007 AND 2008.
Nov. 2007 / Nov 2008 = Differential
Playstation 3: 466K / 378K = -88K
Playstation 2: 496K / 206K = -290K
PSP: 567K / 421K = -146K
